Overview
Great mystery & controversy still surrounds the true origins of the Tarot to this day, some maintain them to have first originated from Egypt, Italy or China the truth is up until the time they were introduced to Europe around the early 1400's the place of birth is still up for debate.
The Tarot Deck
The Tarot Deck comprises of 78 cards: 22 major arcana and 56 minor arcana.
The 22 major arcana cards: Depict a journey through ones life at different stages and represent the physical & spiritual forces affecting humanity – illness, storms, strengths, power, love etc.
The 56 minor arcana cards: These are divided into four suits:-
:: Swords: movement, the action stage, the mind.
:: Wands: the idea stage or seeds of concept, the intention and growth of such thoughts.
:: Cups: the emotional stage, the bridge between idea & action, desire, inner experience.
:: Pentacles: the actual manifestation of an idea, the result, fruition, realization and prosperity, ideas taking shape.
